About Torcul

Torcul makes the files a printed book and an ebook are made from, and checks them before you get them.

What it is

From a Word or Markdown manuscript, Torcul makes a print-ready interior PDF, an EPUB and a cover. Six free tools give KDP's measurements and check files made anywhere else against its published requirements.

Torcul is run from Türkiye. The site is written in English, German, Turkish and Spanish, and a book can be set in eight languages.

The rules it works by

  • Measure, and say when. Files are checked against the requirements KDP publishes, and the free tools give the date those were read.
  • Promise no acceptance. A clean report means a file met those requirements on that date. Amazon decides what it accepts.
  • Show the guesses. Every heading read from a manuscript is shown with the reason it was read so, and can be corrected before anything is laid out.
  • Delete the manuscript. A manuscript and everything made from it are deleted six hours after upload. The free tools read files in your browser and upload nothing.
  • The files are yours. They are standard files with their fonts embedded. Your right to sell the books printed from them does not depend on Torcul.

The guides and the comparisons

The guides that rest on KDP's rules name the help pages they were checked against, and the date. The comparisons give each tool's prices and platforms as its maker publishes them.
